Our Republic is a project of the Henry Dearborn Liberty Network (HDLN), a nonpartisan research organization–a “think tank”–dedicated to the advancement of important values related to human rights and freedom. HDLN is a nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions made to Our Republic through HDLN are tax-deductible.

Our Republic is unlike its numerous peers in the pro-liberty movement, because although many freedom-focused organizations are working to develop and promote pro-liberty solutions to the world’s problems, Our Republic works primarily on emerging issues that other groups are not covering effectively. We are the “tip of the spear” of the conservative movement in America, providing thought-leaders, activists, researchers, academics, and lawmakers with information about new, incredibly important topics that very few others are working on.

For example, in recent years, Our Republic’s team and its allies have worked together to fight back against the rise of ESG and other social credit scores, the emergence of central bank digital currencies, the threats to liberty posed by artificial intelligence, and we have exposed disastrous new programs by the European Union and United Nations, among many other projects.

Justin Haskins, a New York Times bestselling author and a senior fellow at The Heartland Institute, founded HDLN in 2018 with Donald Kendal, a fellow at The Heartland Institute and director of Heartland’s Emerging Issues Center.

Although we are proud of the work we do publicly, our most impactful efforts are conducted behind the scenes, alongside some of the nation’s most influential leaders in politics and media. Our mission is first and foremost to change the world for the better, even if we do not get the glory. Ronald Reagan famously kept a little sign on his desk in the Oval Office that said, “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit.” It might sound ridiculous to some of you who read this, but we take that approach very seriously, and as a result, Our Republic has been far more effective than much larger organizations with massive staffs and bloated budgets.
